Reese Romero

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Reese Romero studied horn performance under Sadie Glass at the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. He is currently completing his Master’s in horn performance with Julie Landsman at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, CA, where he also serves as the Horn Studio Assistant. Romero’s major teachers also include Mark Almond, Alicia Telford, and Steve Senavsky.

An active performer across California, Romero has most recently played with Opera Modesto, the Music Academy of the West’s Academy Opera Orchestra, RZA’s A Ballet Through Mud, the Merced Symphony, and USC Thornton’s Symphony Orchestra and Thornton Winds. He has also attended the Kendall Betts Horn Camp, the Eastman Summer Horn Intensive, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and the Interlochen Horn Institute, and has worked with the Summer Arts Administration at the Music Academy of the West.

In addition to his performance studies, Romero is dedicated to creating innovative arts experiences and is a passionate advocate for community outreach through music. He has founded several thriving community-led ensembles, including the Pacific Summer Chamber Music Festival, the Pacific Brass Society, and the Pacific Repertoire Orchestra.
