Isabella Kolasinski
Dr. Isabella Kolasinski resides in Tempe, Arizona, where she actively performs and teaches throughout the metro area. She served as second horn of the West Valley Symphony and frequently performs with Chamber Music Silicon Valley, Symphony Southwest, Musica Nova Orchestra, and the Phoenix Brass Collective. In recent years Isabella has released several commercial recordings including: John Stevens’ ‘Triangles,’ Steven Bryant’s ‘Ecstatic Waters’ with the ASU Wind Ensemble — and more recently Hildegard Westerkamp’s ‘Fantasie for Horns II’ and Janet Beat’s ‘Hunting Horns are Memories.’
As a dedicated chamber musician Isabella collaborates in various ensembles including the Corvus Horn Trio. The Corvus Horn Trio’s recent activities include a performance in the East Idaho Chamber series and a residency at Idaho State University. Isabella also served as a Guest Artist at the Saarburg International Music Festival in Saarburg, Germany, and in 2024 she toured with the Potsdam Brass Quintet throughout the western region of New York State.
In addition to her performing career, Isabella maintains a private studio of horn players in the valley, many of whom achieve success in AMEA regional and all-state auditions. She previously served as a teaching assistant at Arizona State University, where she instructed horn at the collegiate level and taught horn methods class. Beyond ASU, Isabella has led masterclasses at The Crane School of Music and Idaho State University. Prior to working as staff at Kendall Betts Horn Camp, she attended KBHC as a scholarship recipient from 2017-2019.
Her major professors are: John Ericson, Adam Unsworth, Bryan Kennedy, Lauren Becker, and Kiirsi Johnson.
