Brooklynne McGonagle

Brooklynne McGonagle is a French horn performer and educator based in Lawrence, Kansas. As a versatile performer, McGonagle has built an active career in orchestral, chamber, and educational settings. McGonagle is a founding member of The Midway Brass, who were semi-finalists in the 2025 Festival Ljubljana International Brass Quintet and Quartet Competition in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Also in 2025, The Midway Brass were selected as featured performers at the World Exposition in Osaka, Japan, through an invitation from the U.S. State Department. McGonagle and The Midway Brass have also advanced to the semi-final round in the International Trumpet Guild’s 2026 Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition in Rochester, New York. In July of 2026, McGonagle and The Midway Brass are 1 of 14 brass ensembles worldwide to travel to Birmingham, England and compete in the live rounds of the Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition. Outside of her work with The Midway Brass, McGonagle has performed with numerous ensembles, including the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, Omaha Symphony Orchestra, Topeka Symphony Orchestra, Navo Chamber Orchestra, and Valdosta Symphony Orchestra. Her performance experience reflects a commitment to artistic collaboration, stylistic versatility, and connecting with audiences through both traditional and contemporary brass repertoire.

Alongside her performing career, McGonagle is a dedicated educator who values collaborative and student-centered teaching. Since 2023, she has served as Adjunct Professor of French Horn and Trumpet at Baker University, where she works closely with developing brass musicians in both applied and ensemble settings.

McGonagle is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Horn Performance at the University of Kansas, where she studies with Dr. Kelly Misko and serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. McGonagle earned her Master of Music in Horn Performance from the University of Kansas in 2024, studying with Dr. Paul Stevens and Dr. Kelly Misko, and completed her Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance at Valdosta State University under the instruction of Dr. Kristen Johns.
