Alumni of Cormont Horn Camp have positions in major symphony orchestras, military bands, and universities all around the globe. Cormont Horn Camp provides invaluable training for serious high school, college, and graduate students as well as providing a fulfilling experience for professionals, amateurs, and those just picking up the horn for the first time in many years. Cormont Horn Camp is located in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains region of New Hampshire.

Philosophy
Our goal at Cormont Horn Camp is to have the best possible horn experience in the world for all involved. Our teaching philosophy is to give every participant the opportunity to become the best musician they can be through proper instruction and dedicated support.
Faculty
The faculty of Cormont Horn Camp includes the top players and teachers in the US and beyond. Campers work with these renowned soloists, members of top orchestras, and faculty of illustrious schools of music in individualized settings.
Staff
The staff at Cormont Horn Camp provides additional teaching, administrative, and technical support to further personalize the curriculum offered at Cormont Horn Camp. Many staff members are also Cormont Horn Camp alums and former students of Kendall Betts, the founder of Cormont Horn Camp.
Curriculum
The Cormont Horn Camp curriculum serves each participant where they are in their horn journey—high school, college, professional, amateur, returning to horn. Cormont Horn Camp helps you become a better player while creating lifelong bonds.
One of the strengths of Cormont Horn Camp is the small faculty to participant ratio. With 50 participants and 14 faculty members, each participant has meaningful time with many faculty members, getting each faculty’s take on good playing habits. Participants are placed in groups of 4-6 of similar ability and goals.
High School Students

High school students scheduled to graduate in 2026-2030, and who will be at least 14 years old by June 13, 2026, are eligible to apply. Students must also be currently studying horn privately on a regular basis. First-time participants need to fill out an application and make a recording in order to be accepted into the camp. Returning high school students only need to fill out the application.
College Students

College undergraduate and graduate students majoring in music performance, music education, or any other subject, are eligible to apply.
The immersive experience of Cormont Horn Camp is the ideal space for serious college students. Campers work with renowned faculty in individualized and small group settings, and can delve deeply into orchestral excerpts, fundamentals, and solo work. Many of our collegiate alumni have gone on to successful careers as performers and educators. College and adult participants are assigned to small study groups of like abilities and interests.
Adult Students

Cormont Horn Camp offers great value to a wide range of adults, including professionals, serious amateurs, and those picking up the horn for the first time in years. Campers are divided into small groups dependent on their level, and you can determine the best use of your time at camp: reinvigorate your already high level of playing, dive deeply into a specific area such as natural horn or solo performance, or work on fundamentals to improve your playing.
