Betty Lin Gallardo

Pianist Betty Lin Gallardo has a diverse background with her musical career as a solo and collaborative pianist. She has extensive experience in teaching and performing in Taiwan, Spain, and the United States. Dr. Lin Gallardo served as the chamber pianist of the Youth Orchestra of Sevilla in 2014, Spain. Her musical career in the United States started in 2016, where she joined the Memphis Teaching Initiative as a piano teaching fellow for Memphis public middle and high schools. As a collaborative pianist, she appeared in Memphis opera, Memphis Symphony Chorus, Austin Chamber Music, Texas String Festival, NATS competitions, and University Interscholastic League contests across states. Currently, Dr. Lin Gallardo is serving as a piano instructor and collaborative pianist at DePauw University.

Dr. Lin Gallardo received her bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Advanced Music Conservatory of Badajoz in Spain under Ángel Sanzo. Later, she was admitted to the University of Memphis, where she studied piano under Victor Asuncion and Cathal Breslin and received her first master’s degree in piano performance in 2016. She received her second master’s and DMA degree in collaborative piano in 2022 from the University of Texas at Austin under Colette Valentine. Her graduate studies in the United States were made possible by receiving the full tuition scholarship and served as a teaching assistant in both universities.
